Perry has the father of actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. The role of Jackie Harris was played by her mother in both the two episodes she appeared on Roseanne. However, her parents were not keen to let her perform until she turned older and worried about the consequences of stress. Perry shy and shy for acting in high school, started to act in the theater at Northwestern University because she wanted to make new acquaintances. Perry had the opportunity to secure small TV roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent after she graduated. However, her homesickness caused her to move to California and she returned to work on stage. She played the younger Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off show from CBS's The Big Bang Theory was another portrayal by her younger mother. The role was given to her through audition, regardless of the fact that she has a family tie with the character.
