Ina Garten has been known as a well-known American writer of cook books for a number of seasons. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa and began its run in 2002. Ina began her career by working at the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget as well as policy documents. In the beginning, she found her work interesting and stimulating however she soon lost interest, and bought a small grocery store that was named Barefoot Contessa. After selling the store it took her 18 years building it into a highly successful store. A number of other books and magazines followed. The Food Network television program also was launched and soon became a hit. Additionally, she offers everything from equipment to cooking tools and storage containers. Ina, who is self-taught she has never attended an institution for cooking or a hotel. Her relaxed approach to entertaining and her easy culinary style is widely known.
