Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to in the form of Lita Ford) is an British born American guitar vocalist who played the role of lead singer in The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. They gained attention for their rebellious lyrics and punk-inspired fashion. It was not possible for the band to be popular in America, however, they enjoyed a great deal of acclaim in other nations particularly Japan. Ford had a long and prosperous career as a solo heavy metal artist after the group split together in 1979. She began voice lessons, and recorded her first solo album 'Out for Blood followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford did not achieve much with either album and remained out of the realm of rock for an entire decade. The album "Time Capsule" was released by her in 2016. Her name was given The Certified Guitar Legend Award by the Guitar Player Magazine.
